OBTAINING BUILDING APPROVAL PERMIT IN LAGOS STATE

Are you thinking of obtaining a building approval permit for your building construction project but don't know the ministry saddled with the responsibility?

Well, the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development is the state government department in charge of issuing an approval permit for building and development projects in Lagos State.

The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) on the other hand is the supervisory Agency under the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development of Lagos State saddled with the responsibility of supervising the various stages of the building construction activities to ensure conformity and adherence to the approved architectural/structural drawings as specified in the Building Approval Permit issued on such building development and building codes.

There are other agencies of the Lagos State government that also have various regulatory roles they play during building construction activities.

The roles of these government agencies would be discussed in a later post.
